What is an IP rating?

The IP (Ingress Protection) rating is an international standard for measuring a device’s levels of protection from dust and fresh water. The first digit in the two-digit IP code indicates the level of protection against solid objects, including dust. The second digit refers to what degree the device is protected from fresh water.

防护等级(IP. Ingress Protection)是国际通用的设备防尘防水的衡量标准，共2位数字。第1位表示防护固体物质(包括灰尘)的等级，第2位表示对纯水的防护等级。

	IP0X. No special protection IP0X. 无防护.
	IP1X. Protected against solid objects > 50 mm in diameter. IP1X. 防护大于12.5mm的物体.
	IP2X. Protected against solid objects > 12.5 mm in diameter. IP2X. 防护大于12.5mm的物体.
	IP3X. Protected against solid objects > 2.5 mm in diameter. IP3X. 防护大于2.5mm的物体.
	IP4X. Protected against solid objects > 1 mm in diameter. IP4X. 防护大于1mm的物体.
	IP5X. Protected against dust; limited ingress (no harmful deposit). IP5X. 防尘，限制外部物侵入(无有害物质累积).

	IPX4. Protected against splashing water. IPX4. 保护不受所有角度泼水影响.
